You hit it on the nose in your 2nd paragraph. That this planet and every other, has a life of its own. It is a natural Earth phenomenon part of an uncomfortable cycle for all life on this planet.
Mostly the Sun is culprit in the warm and cold spells we are now experiencing. Right Now as I write, the Sun is shooting out X-class solar flares that in reality are far beyond that of X-class at an unprecedented rate.(those that lay blame to human activity are ignorant to that). Fortunate for us, these flareups are random and so far are occurring in other directions and have not yet given the Earth a direct hit. So far we have (only?)been receiving the wake of these super-flares that are off in degrees that otherwise have given the world that direct formidable hit. Iam not saying we have not in the past been hit with flares as these were much smaller and knocked out the operation of satellites. This will be the first time in our recent recorded history that as humans will experience this once in 12000 (approx)year cycle the Sun reaches this"Solar Maxim"as we call it. The only recorded history of this occurring and other devastation's that preceded is deciphered from the Mayan calendar which ends in the year 2012 December.

Your right and wrong I feel.
Global warming DOES exist. There isn't very many credible scientists that disagree that the mean (average) temperature of the earth has risen in the past few decades. Now of course, there are natrual cycles that the earth goes through that can have a substantial impact on tempeartures. It is how quickly the warming has happened that has scientists worried. Manmade warming has changed Earths temperatures much faster then any Earth cycle could natrually do. Ice ages happen over millennia not decades. Same with warm cycles.
The fact we are having a cold winter all of a sudden is not a fluke. It happens just like anything else. It does not change the fact the Earth is still in fact warmer globally. One cold snap or heat wave does not change that.
The extreme weather events are rtapidly increasing. Huge snowfalls in New York due to the fact Lake Erie wasn't frozen, and record warmth for much of the winter. Manmade global warming is here to stay unless people change.

Despite what Environmentalists and Al Gore says, there is still debate on Global Warming. Not that it is happening, as you have surely read or heard, there is definate consensus that humans are warming the earth with Carbon Dioxide. How much though is debated. I do not posess enough knowledge to give a full answer on the subject, but I do no there is scientific debate on how much we are warming the globe. There could be a natural cycle also working, but with all the coincidences, it is quite likely we are warming the Earth.
As for the Democrats driving SUV's - remember that the Environment can be just a politcal stepping stone. If a politician wants to advance, he/she will jump on the party's bandwagon. If people are blaming Republicans for not caring about the Environment, the Democrats will try to appeal to these people by also criticizing the Republicans (and vice-versa, depending on who is in power).
We have to understand that Global Warming is not only an environmental issue, it is a political issue. Politicians have lots to lose or gain depending how the people look at it.

Nobody ever used to worry about things which nothing can be done about. You just took things as they came. If the winter was warm, that was good. If it was bad, that was bad.
The paranoid fears of chicken little liberals has infected otherwise intelligent individuals. The same liberal 'scientists' were squawking about the new ice age in the 1970s. That wasn't true either! Those same squawks need to find a hiding place for the asteroid that's gonna fall on them.
We should be more worried about the assteroids making laws in DC!

Well its not a religion its scientists, you know people who have studied this stuff and know about it who are telling us. So again I take the words of the majority of scientists. As for the costant comparison to the cooling in the 70's isn't possible that science has improved over the past 30 years so scientists know a little better what they are talking about.
Besides didnt you see that even the Bush Administration agrees humans are causing some of the problems. So it's ok for you to agree too.

global warming is real... how its affecting us could be the unusually warm winter followed by the really frigid other half of winter. im not a scientist but i know that global warming is caused by the depleation of the ozone layer which is making the overall climate hotter and melting the polar ice caps and such. this could all be a huge coincidence with a small heat or ice age but honestly i dont think thats plausible. anyway global warming is real and it definitly had something to do witht he first half of this winter, but the seocnd half is like nature finally getting back on track.

no it isn't just a natural cycle, science has now established beyond doubt that it is being influenced by man, I don't understand why it is so hard to understand that a species that can build the H-bomb, travel to the moon is also capable of influencing the climate

Global warming is a joke. They were doing the same thing here. When it was in the 70's they were yelling global warming. When it was 5 degrees they all disappeared in the woodwork.
