I am against abortion, but I can't help feeling sorry for rape victims. I was thinking that if the rape is solved, should the Church then allow an abortion? I feel bad that the victims have to live through the pregnancy, and then either live with the child that reminds them of what happened, or give up the child in adoption.

I'm on the fence about abortions. I've never had one so I can't judge something I have no experience with, because you don't know what this women is going through and I know this can not be any easy decision for any women reguardless of the situation. but expesially if your raped I think you should be allowed to abort if thats your decision. My reason being is #1 it's hard to carry a child 9 months then give it up for adoption, then if you were to keep it, it would remind you every day of what happen.#2 genetically if this man raped you what will the child turn out like, genes do run deep and the child could be mentally unstable just like the father and you have brought another monster into the world.#3 Then say you decide to keep the baby ,Then what about parental rights God forbid this man finds out about the baby and has the audacity to Sue for visitation just to control your life and have the upper hand which is what rape is all about anyways control, power, etc, it's not about sex, mind you the court would take in to consideration how the baby came to be , but the way the world is today with all these liberals he could show he has changed then the man is in your life for 18 more years. That's what would happen to me because I travel with Murphy's Law.So I say whatever the mother is most comfortable with for her emotional well being. Mind you most people who do abort I think have good reasons, they just don't do it for the fun of it, it's emotionally hard, painful, and carries alot of risk, so I think they think long and hard before doing this.

That would be all well and good, if a rapist could be arrested, tried and convicted and all appeals exhausted by the 16th week of pregnancy. The wheels of justice do not move that fast. As for adoption in the case of rape, what happens at the age of 18 when the child goes out on the hunt for their parents and learns they are a product of rape, that would be devastating. That is why the church needs to step away from this issue.

I am definitely pro choice, it's the womans decision, but I especially feel it is an acceptable situation in the case of a rape. In the case of a child conceived by rape that's just awful and I can't think of any woman that would want to carry that child full term. Adoption is great, but there are always too many children up for adoption now who end up without a family to call their own and are stuck in a cycle of foster home and orphanages. The churches only responsibility is to offer support to their members who are going through such a terrible tragedy and to aid those who need assistance.

I too am against abortion...But I would never judge a person if she did have an abortions because she was raped. The rape itself is enough to ruin her life. I would not want any reminders of my attacker. But that is the choice the victim would have to make, but I would not think any less of her if she chose the abortion.

abortion, right or wrong, must be kept legal for the safety of women. face it, women have been having abortions since the age of mankind and will never stop, regardless of what the law says, whether it's gov law or church law/belief. the church may think they can stop abortions from happening, but we all know that is not the case.
what do you mean by "if the rape is solved"?

No, the in uncomplicated words proper rationalization for an abortion, in Romney's view, is to maintain the existence of the mum and the authorities received't pay for it. Ryan concurs with Todd Akins one hundred%.

My personal conviction is in opposition to abortion. However, I do not think it is my business or my place to tell someone else what to do in this kind of matter. The woman would need to talk to her family, her clergy, and her doctor before making a decision of that nature.

I don't like abortion either, but no woman should be forced to bear a child conceived by rape. I agree with you.

No women should be forced to carry a nine month reminder of a rape. The church has nothing to do with it.
