Seattle is a very livable city. Compared to much of the country, Seattle's climate is very mild and yes, it rains in the winter (NOT EVERYDAY), but it doesn't usually snow, like it does in other northern states. The scenery in and around Seattle is also very beautiful and is part of the reason I love living here.

As for affordability, the housing here is expensive, but I think most other things, like utilities, groceries, etc. are much the same as in other places.

One thing to keep in mind though is that Washington does not impose a state income tax like most other states do. So instead, you make up for it by paying a higher sales tax rate (8.8%).

The cons to living here are housing affordibility, traffic (some of the worst traffic in the country because of all the water/bridges), and darkness in the winter months.

Hope that helps!

Seattle is an absoulty beautiful place to live. The summers and winters are moderate climates around 45 for the winter and 80-95 during the summer. It is a VERY expensive place to live. But all in all it is very worth the money. There is not to much traffic and it is just gorgeous! With the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other it cant get any better than that. People are very nice and generous up here although maybe not quite as in your face as people for southern states! I would deffinetly consider living in the Emrald City! Skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer is great! Also swimming as well this city just has a ton to offer.

I really liked it when I lived there. I lived in a town just outside of Seattle due to housing costs, but the commute was not bad if you are flexible when you travel. There is a lot to do and going to the islands is pretty neat.
It rains a lot in the winter, but the summers make up for it. Very mild weather.

Seattle is an excellent position to stay, regardless of the indisputable fact that it has a really severe value of residing. authentic resources mainly is better expensive than you're probable used to. Crime is exceptionally low, and there is a ton of stuff to do.

i lived there for a short period and hated it. it rains EVERY DAY and all those weirdo people you see on Jerry Springer live there. Lots of strange people are there. there is a mixture of people from all over the world. it is expensive to live there. but, there are lots of jobs there too. and consider this, i grew up in a small, conservative town, so no wonder i found it so uncomfortable. the crime is very high too.
