injuries to key players is the reason to the celtic woes...many games in their losing streak were not blowouts....it will always be tough to win with such a young and experienced lineup.....in the end i think the stupid moves of ainge are the reason for the current collapse...passing on roy for telfair was a big mistake...passing on marcus williams for rajon rondo is a bigger mistake...passing on the chance to make a deal for allen iverson was the biggest mistake...auerbach had a knack of picking gems with trades and drafts....ainge seems to be going the opposite direction....many are saying the celtics are tanking in order to get the most number of ping pong balls in the upcoming draft...in order to tank one must have the ability to win...with bad management and even worse coaching it just becomes a convenient excuse for the once mighty celtics

The celtics will finish with a fairly dissmal record of 26-56. They will have the worst record in the league and get the top draft pick. However, Paul Pierce should not be traded and he should harness the young talent he has around him. Also, he is only getting 10-15 minutes when he first comes back from the reports I have heard so don't look for a tremendous box score from pierce until he is 100% healthy.

Sadly the celtics dont need a few wins this season. They want to have the worst record so they can get the top pick in this talent laden draft.
They gain nothing from having a "not so bad record" other than a lower lottery spot, they have no chance of making the playoffs so they might as well just give their young players experience and let them grow for the next few years.
Also the trade talks are extremely hard to understand because of Danny Ainge he has a tendency to make extremely odd trades.

a not so bad record? like, maybe finishing 14-68? LOL....The Celts will win 24 games I think, at most....It's sad that, despite the fact that Paul Pierce has been out about a month, he still leads the team in total points. Nobody else on this team can score, except for maybe Sczerbiak.... They have a lot of work to do this offseason, including ousting Danny Ainge as the GM.

Celtics need to think about the future of the team at this point. The year is over before the half-way point. Trade Pierce, draft Greg Oden or Kevin Durant and rebuild around either of them.

They'll probably get some more wins, but I want them to lose more. The more we lose, the better chances we get a Greg Oden. Greg Oden+Jefferson might just be the next Twin Towers, with Pierce in the frontcourt as well. Then you got Delonte and Rondo/Wally/Allen/Green, or something like that. That's a pretty good team.

At this point I'm sure they are going to be very sure that Pierce is healthy before coming back. Reoprts indicate that he's only going to get 10-20 min a game for a while. I'm fairly certain the Celts are playing the rest of the season for ping pong balls in the Ogden/Durant lottery more than anything else.

The Celtics are finished for the season. They may as well lose every game to get Greg Oden.
