I think Dallas.. Although I take nothing away from Phoenix because they are a great team, Dallas is a proven powerhouse in the west and can compete with Phoenix in the regular season and take them out in the playoffs. Their defense is the key to their success and Phoenix's lack of defense is a liability, especially against a squad like Dallas. Dallas has almost as many offensive weapons, if not more offensive weapons, than Phoenix. Dallas has the ability to control the pace of the game, and if Phoenix can't run the court, they're in trouble.

Without a doubt, the Mavs. Obviously, Phoenix plays at an extremely high tempo and scores over 110 ppg, but I'm not sure they can keep that much intensity and energy through an 82 game grind and the playoffs..... Also, the Suns can get away with a subpar defense now, but the Playoffs might be a different story. The Mavs present a very balanced attack, with a potent offense and one of the NBA's top defenses. Plus, Dallas is led by an outstanding coach in Avery Johnson, not to mention Dirk Nowitzki, an always improving All-Star who works as hard as anybody in the league and continues his offensive dominance and development defensive presence. Terrific young guys and vets surround Dirk, including Josh Howard, Devin Harris, Jason Terry, DeSagana Diop, Erick Dampier, Devean George, Greg Buckner, Anthony Johnson, and Austin Croshere. Finally, after an EXCELLENT shot at the title slipped away last season (lost 4 straight games to Miami in Finals, one by 1 pt, one by 2 pts, one by 3 pts, after taking a commanding 2-0 lead), the Mavs are hungry for a championship.

Suns. I'm surprised at how good they are. Their bench is not very deep at all, yet they play a run-and-gun style all year long without looking fatigued. I love the fact that they can have most of their players play multiply positions; it makes up for the lack of players on the bench. The key would be to see how Amare's holds up after hardly playing at all last year. Can he really not run out of gas with the Sun's style of play? With Kurt Thomas out, Boris Diaw not playing like he did last season, and Pat Burke not being a 20+ minute guy, they are thin at center. Let's hope they can continue to win with Nash guilding them to the championship!

I say the suns there team has been soooo good ever since they got Steve Nash. They have a great chemistry together and Dallas relies on Dirk too much. I say Phoenix will win it all this year

Mavs, because they actually play defense. Plus they have proven themselves against the upper class teams. They have also beaten the spurs in the playoffs, while the have not. and the spurs have been the team to beat.

Dallas will win. They have better fundamentals and have the good athletes to keep up with the Suns.
