Should i go to the valentines dance?

i kind of want to go but i have no one to go with and what about the slow songs?............should i even go?....and if i do what should i wear?

Of course you should, especially if you want to! There isn't a rule that says you have to take a date to a dance, or you are a loser. All four years of high school I went stag to Homecoming, and i had a great time, a few of my other friends went stag and we had a ball. I even danced a few of the slow songs. Good friend needed to sit one out and they generously offered their dates up. It's all about your attitude and personality, who cares that you are stag, if you show that you are having a blast, people won't really give two hoots or even notice you aren't there with someone special! As for what to wear, is it semi-formal/formal or more of a casual thing. If it's casual a great pair of jeans, that make you look great, a darker wash maybe, great sparkly ballet flats, and a cute top with a V-Day theme, pull your hair up in ponytail, light makeup and wow. Now if its more formal, a great charcoal gray dress or black dress with bright red accessories, some comfortable heels to make you legs look great and slightly more dramatic makeup, perhaps a darker eyes, cheeks that glow and a glossy subtle lip. Leave your hair down with some soft waves and a cute crystal barrette to pull it back from your face. Top it with a sparkly red shrug or bolero, and you might find you aren't wanting for dance partners!!! Good luck hun, I hope you decide to go, even if you don't take any of my advice!

I say you should go to the valentine's dance! Who cares if you don't have a date!! Go with some friends and have a good time for a little while and if its lame you can always leave! Atleast make an appearance! And as for slow dances, slow dancing with good guy friends is completely normal...there is always somone to slow dance with...and you never know...there might be a cute guy that will ask you to dance anyways! Think of it this way, a lot of people who don't have dates still go to dances...who are the dateless guys gonna slow dance with? they have to find someone.....other dateless girls!! Good luck! =)

It really depends on your personality. Do you want to go? Just because it is a dance doesn't mean you have to dance. Just hang out with some friends. You can wear maybe an dress that is sort of valentinish! Maybe a red, pink, or white?? The most important thing is to have fun!! Good luck and hope this helped you!

Okay, BIG NOTE: Only go if your friends are going.

I survived 6th, 7th and 8th grade Valentine's Day dances and let me tell you... if you don't have friends or a date DO NOT GO.

But, if you have friends that are going, definitely go! You'll have so much fun with just your friends. And yeah, the slow dances will be a little akward, but take it from someone who knows; they usually only last about 2 minutes. After that, you're back with your friends, chilling and partying! Go for it! It's lots of fun to hang out with your buds. Just forget that it's V-day, go to have fun, not have a valentine.

As to what to wear? I would go with something that comfortable. I would say a pair of fitted jeans that should at least let you breathe, a basic camisole and a patterned hoodie/cardigan. (something like this from delias.com: http://images.delias.com//152095_wmu_c.jpg)

Go with your friends, or just randomly ask guys! (won't hurt to)...& wear something Valentine-ish ((lol...ISH))).... & on the slow songs, it's not hard at all, just put your arms over the guys' shoulders and he'll put his on your waist and you just rock back & forth (((& if he's ur boo, u all can whisper in each other's ears & kiss & stuff...lol)))...& if ur too shy to dance, just stand around, or make that your time to go and get something to snack on...or go to other people who are standing around and chat..make some new friends!!! HAVE FUN!! I hope you go, this can be your big day to come out of your shell you seem to be in...


Just have fun with it, be yourself and don't over do it...((that all sounds so cliche', but it's so true!))

Definately go! You never know, they're might be a very cute single guy that you will meet! Wear something that you feel cute in. If you don't feel good, you won't look good. And wear something red or pink to go with the Vday theme.

Definately Go!! School dances are always really fun. And most kids don't have a date and they just go with their friends... TRUST ME, YOU'LL HAVE FUN ! ! !

I would wear jeans, ballet flast, and a long flowy shirt. Or if it is a more formal dance where everyone wears dresses, then you can find one at forever 21, Macy*s, Nordstroms BP, Wet Seal, Charlotte Rouse, or maybe online somewhere else...

Go with your instincts. If you have no one to go with then I probably wouldn't recommend going. Even if you're an outgoing person, most of the time you will meet somebody there but since it's Valinetine, most people are already paired up with somebody else. Because of lack of self-confidence and the sensitive holiday that is, most people are pretty uptight on Valintine's day anyways. Hey, where do you live? I'll go with you! lol...

I don't have anyone to go with for mine, SSSSSOOOOOOOO, just go with friends. That is what I always do! It is more fun that way! You don't have to dance to the slow songs! I never do! I just watch at that stuff!
