You won't get a virus from plugging it into windows, but by opening the drive their is a chance you will. Make sure you scan it before opening
just remember right clicking is safe, left click on the drive isnt
also don't put it in before windows loads, chances are alot of pcs will attempt to boot from USB and the virus (if their is one) might be able to get on the hard drive and wipe it ect before you even get to windows

Yes, viruses and other nasty things can "infect" your computer when a jump drive is used. That is one of the reasons businesses are suddenly slamming the doors on their employees using jump drives at home. It all depends on what goes onto the jumpdrive, even innocent stuff if not thoroughly scanned and tested, might have some form of spyware or other junk that you dont want on a pristine system.
Good luck.

in case you have a real-time scanning anti-virus software, it is going to test your flash key once you plug it in. in case you have not have been given any AV application, i could recommend AVG Anti-Virus. Do a Google seek for the unfastened version.

Yes, it can. Be sure to install anti virus and spyware software first, though.

not if you're funning antivirus software.
If there is an autoplay execution file on that flash drive then it is possible that it is trying to give you a virus.
Always, Always, Always,....run antivirus software.
