He was one of the coolest X-Men in X2, so I'm just curious. Was it because they couldn't get the actor to do the role again?

Even though the make-up took ages and Alan Cumming hated it, he was quite up for doing X3.

But then the script only had a small part for Nightcrawler in it, and so the studio decided it just wasn't worth that long and expensive make-up process just for a small part.

So, they cut the character from the script, and wrote something into a tie-in computer game they released to explain why the character wasn't there.

From what I had heard, Alan had another part in a movie lined up and the schedules conflicted one another. Also, the studio or director, thought having two blue guys would be too confusing for the audience.

and nightcrawler was a gay anyway. he is like arch angel that guy is a gaymo. i heard that they changed the script and wrote out gambit for arch angel, they effed that script up
