A real friend is someone who accept you for you, no strings attached. A real friend is someone who knows all the good and the not-so-good about you and still likes you. A real friend is someone who will do anything to help you in a crisis. A real friend is someone who would miss you after you died and only have good things to say to others about you. A real friend is the person you call to share the happiness of the day or the frustrations of life, and listens though you may have said the same things a hundred times before. A real friend is a person who compliments your personality, challenges your choices, and accepts you regardless of the mistakes you make in life.

Real friends are few in ones life and when you find one, return the favor and be a real friend back.

One where you can have a fight with, but be friends again the moment after... one that will understand you even if the rest of the world will think you're crazy... One will always be there and never forget the things that you guys have been through together... One that would actually help you out on things without actually having to tell you that he/she helped you out on that thing... One that will never betray you unless it is something they really couldnt help, which is where you have to forgive and forget... if you are a true friend of his...

My favorite friends definition is:
A good friend will come bail you out of jail at 4:00 a.m. A great friend will be sitting there beside you saying "damm that was fun".

Friendship isn’t necessarily the thing you share with the people that you go to school with, or catch the bus with. Friendship isn’t talking to someone just because there’s no one else to talk to. A true friendship is when you can tell someone you can talk to about your feelings, someone you can tell things to that you couldn’t tell to anyone else and when you trust that person to never tell those thoughts to anyone else. Friendship is when you don’t have to talk to the person; you WANT to talk to them. Friendship is when you love someone so much you want to hold them and never let go, someone you want to rest your head on and cry, and you would let them cry on you too. THAT is friendship… You wouldn't trust a NOT so true friend and you probably wouldn't tell them everything. Hope that made sense!

A person who will do their best to stay true to you.

They won't be fake to you or walk all over you.

Sure, nobody is perfect but there is a big difference between a fake person and a real friend.

'Hope I helped!!

Word History: A friend is a lover, literally. The relationship between Latin amīcus "friend" and amō "I love" is clear, as is the relationship between Greek philos "friend" and phileō "I love." In English, though, we have to go back a millennium before we see the verb related to friend. At that time, frēond, the Old English word for "friend," was simply the present participle of the verb frēon, "to love." The Germanic root behind this verb is *frī-, which meant "to like, love, be friendly to." Closely linked to these concepts is that of "peace," and in fact Germanic made a noun from this root, *frithu-, meaning exactly that. Ultimately descended from this noun are the personal names Frederick, "peaceful ruler," and Siegfried, "victory peace." The root also shows up in the name of the Germanic deity Frigg, the goddess of love, who lives on today in the word Friday, "day of Frigg," from an ancient translation of Latin Veneris diēs, "day of Venus.
