Yes! Yes! Yes! You MUST give your baby water to drink.
She/he will become dehydrated only drinking milk!
Your doctor should have told you this.
All living beings need water!
Give your baby water in between feedings. As much as they will drink should be enough.

Water is safe, but there's no point to giving it, it has no nutritional value. If you are going to give the baby water, make sure to boil it first, even if it is bottled water, because you never know what bacteria might be in it. I believe with my first son, I started him on (really diluted) apple juice by about 2 months as per the doc's orders. At least with the juice there's some nutritional value, but my child's pediatrician was an older doctor and somewhat old fashioned, so you should prob. talk to your child's doctor before starting juice! Anyway, try not to give more than an ounce or two of anything other than formula and breatmilk so it doesn't fill the baby up too much.

A baby that young should only have breast milk or formula, both provide baby with all the water they need. If you feel you must give your baby water, wait until your baby is older. There is such a thing as too much water for a baby, it can cause seizures. Babies need the calories, so why fill them up with something that doesn't have any? When your baby is around 4 months you could give your baby say, 1oz per day but make sure it is boiled and cooled or bottled water.

A baby that young should only be drinking breast milk or formula. The breast milk or formula has water in it already so it is not necessary for them to be given water. Also their stomach is not ready for a liquid like water in full strength just yet. hold off on giving him/her water for a few more months. Ask you r pediatrician about when is a good time to start.

Although it is safe to give a baby very small amounts of water after 6 weeks of age, it is not desirable nor is it neccessary. If your baby is exclusively breastfed (which I hope is the case), then he or she is receiving all of the water needed through breastmilk, even in hot weather or during times of illness. As long as the baby is nursing regularly, he or she will not become dehydrated.
If you are formula feeding it is OK to give a little water during hot weather, but still isn't really neccessary.

No, I would give your 2 month old only formula or breastmilk. I give my 7 month old water in a sippy cup now because he's teething and the water is cool on his gums. At 2 months though, giving water is unnecessary and they may miss out on the calories they need.

Bottle over tap only if the baby is constipated. Breastmilk and formula really should be the only source of liquid at 2 months.

Not water from the tap. They have baby bottled water. But anyway.. it's not necessary to give children that young any water b/c there is enough water in both formula and breast milk.
If you give the baby water, he may get full from it then he wont drink his formula which can lead to malnutrition. if the baby is dehydrated or something, you can give him pedialite.

an infant doesnt need water, it will hurt his appetite which he needs for his next feeding, if the weather is really hot where you live, give him an ounce of bottled water only, and never straight out of the frig! room temp.only--i saw a baby who had to go to the hospital because of tap water, so first ask your doctor.

NO. Why do you need to? Babies under a year don't need ANY fluids aside from breastmilk or formula. Babies have tiny tummies that fill easily. You don't want them to fill up on water or juice and refuse their feedings, since that's where ALL their nutrition comes from.

A 2 month old should be having only breast milk or formula. Water wouldn't be harmful, except for the calories the child isn't getting. The calories are very important for young babies brain and body development.
