I really just want the meanings. For example, the name Earl means "Noble Warrior" and is derived from old English. You don't have to tell me your real christian name, I am just curious about its meaning and whether or not you think it suits you. It's a silly question.

My name is Gavin, which is celtic for white hawk/ battle hawk (different websites have said different things). Gavin is derived from the middle English name Gawain (as in Sir Gawain of the knights of the round table). I think the name is fairly nonsensical, and doesn't exactly reflect my personality.

Lindsay comes from the island of Linden trees & is of old English origin. I wouldn't really say it fits me, but I don't know what name would. My parents named me after Lindsay Wagner (not because they liked her, they liked the name). They thought they were being "unique" because they'd never met anyone named Lindsay, but now it's very, very popular & I hear it a lot. Gets mispelled allllll the time.

My first name is Francis. It means free in some language. I hate it. I go by Frank. It was my mother's idea. Both my first and last names are girl's names. I've thought about changing both of them, but my mother wouldn't like that. She's 95 and going strong.
