I have a 7 week old baby and today she's screaming her little pink head off. We've fed her, changed her, etc. She even screams when we hold her. When we put her down. She's been fine on Similac w/ iron, powdered, so far. So I'm thinking it may be colic, but I thought they usually get that in the first month. Anyone else have a baby who got colic at this age?

Babies are usually born colic and they dont aquire it with time. She may be crying for another reason. Take her to the E/R and ask them to do x-rays or something because if she's crying like that she can hurt herself. Hold her legs when she cries if she gets really hysterical b/c babies can fracture a rib if they cry too much like the way you're describing.
Maybe you can look into switching her formula b/c colic babys are suffering from gas, so maybe you can give her some gripe water.

my child had colic at that age. there is an oprah show that had a special guest that she called the baby whisperer.. she could decipher what the baby wanted by the sound of its cry. You should try to find it on her website. It was VERY on point, and will help you A LOT! as far as colic goes look it up online and get a better understanding on how to comfort a colicky baby, I could be wrong but colic has a lot to do with gas... try mylicon drops and lots of love =0) good luck!!! colicky babies are tough, and it usually happens from birth to about 3 or 4 months.

I used Similac for the first month of my babies life, then switched to Nestle Good Start because of constipation. It's been a miracle worker so far, it's so gentle on their tummies. I stupidly switched him to Enfamil when he was 6 months old and he would stay up all night crying. As soon as I switched him back, he was good again. I'm not sure if your little one has colic, but I would try the Good Start.

I was a colic baby from what my mom told me and would you know it so was my daughter. Well, the only way I could get my daughter to go to sleep was by getting a shirt that I had on that wasn't to dirty and put it on her bed like a bed sheet and while I was feeding her my husband got a heat pad and put in the microwave for about one minute and put it in her bed with her blanket over it and that seemed to help her relax more.

and about the age I myself was a colic baby when I was three months old.

they could make stronger colic at each and every time and it always is going away at 3 months. My daughter stepped ahead it at 6 weeks and it lasted till 13 weeks. She isn't 14 weeks and colic loose! :)

My daughter had colic for the first three months and I thought we'd all go stark raving mad. It isn't fun for anyone, especially the little person. Try to have patience, but if you're really concerned call the pediatrician in the morning.

Usually colic lasts between 1-3 months, the worst of it that is! Maybe you should talk to your peditrician about what you can do! Maybe you might have to switch her formula!
