20 meters is the distance from wicket to wicket.
but remember batsman stands 1.22 meters in front of the wicket and the bowler delivers it from that same distance so .. from the distance the ball is released and reaches the batsman its roughly around 17.50 meters or 19 yards.

Baseball :
Distance from pitchers mound to home plate is around 18.50 meters.
but 90% of batters stand behind the plate inside the batters box which is about 1.8 meters in length.

so all in all when a 90+ mph delivery is pitched in cricket, batters have roughly 0.4 seconds to react.. and when its throwed at ur head(bouncer , which is legal) with that pace.. u can just imagine.
