me and my friend have been having this arguement for years.

so, do crazy straws melt in the dishwasher?

has it happened to you?

by the way, i'm the *smart* one who says that they do, in fact, melt.

Yes this has happened to me they melt and stick to the surface of the dishwasher yiu are correct my friend did a science project on this and you are right it is due to the heat that it melts.

Sometimes - it depends on how good of a straw it is and how many times its gone through the washer (I've had ones that melted and ones that never did after years). The bigger problem is when it somehow jumps out of the silverware basket and gets all mangled in the very bottom of the dishwasher.

Also, this is really going to depend on how hot you have your hot water heater set to - theres a huge temparature range that people keep it at, from just hot enough to be able to still hold your hand under while running to downright scalding, so its quite possible that it would melt in your dishwasher but not your friends.

I'm so tickled by the memory of Crazy Straws...haven't seen them in years. My guess is that they would melt.

Well, Banana, they are plastic, aren't they? So of course they would melt in a dishwasher. =)

Yes they do...Yes I've done it.. I have melted alot of plastics in the diswashwer by accident

i recognize them and that i omit them. I used to have this ridiculous purple one which grow to be so complicated that 0.5 of my glass of Kool-help should be lengthy previous before any of it had touched my mouth. solid cases, solid cases.
