I'm 15 years old and about 4'9. My doctors say I'm not going to grow anymore. What are some types of clothes that would look right on me, and/or would fit right?I know some things would look funny. Thanks.

Also would trousers (as in boy/boyfriend trousers) work OK on a girl my size? If so, where could I get some that would work?

I have the exact same problem. I'm a little over 4'9 and its hard to find clothes that fit right on short girls. But I go to Wet Seal sometimes and they have some cute jeans that come in different washes. They have various sizes but you can get your size in short and it won't be baggy or dragging to the floor. Also just wear some heels with whatever type of pants you have to elongate your legs and your pants won't be dragging like mine are. You can wear heels, wedge shoes or anything that has a kind of long or thick heel. But flare jeans don't look right on short people because they make your leg look like its drowning at the bottom. Skinny jeans are good too, and straight leg. And if you want to wear capris wear something like bermuda shorts. Because capris made for average height people look very long on short people. They almost look like pants on me thats why I either wear pants, shorts or some skirts, most of the time. I really don't know of any other stores that sell stuff in short sizes. I just have to work with whatever is at some stores. Also at Hollister and Aeropostle they have cute shirts that come in small sizes and they are cut short so they won't look big on you.

Long pants and pointy shoes will help elongate your look. Also try vertical stripes, boot cut jeans, an outfit of all one color, and when you wear shorts and sneakers, wear no-show socks. Try to avoid shin length skirts/pants or long jackets.

Of course, you didn't ask what clothes will make you look taller. You asked what would look right. Good for you! While you still seem concerned about what people think of you (that never goes away entirely) you're on the right track to focusing on what makes you feel confident and happy. And for a 15 year old, you're ahead of your game.

Of course you're curious as to what is pleasing to the eye on a shorter lady. Just remember to balance that with what excites you and expresses who you are.

I'm petite myself (5'2").

Some clothes that would be good on short girls, would be fitted, short jackets, skirts/dresses that are knee-length or fall right above the knee, miniskirts (don't worry about its super-short length, because petites can get away with wearing an article of clothing like this without appearing trashy), low-heeled shoes, and any top that doesn't fall below the waist. That's all I can think of for now.

It depends on the proportion of your body. if you have long legs for your height, you should be able to wear anything. If your legs are short and stubby (like mine), then avoid anything with stops short of the floor, like capri pants - they just divide the leg and make what is visible look really short. If you want to lengthen your legs, wear pants with high heels, but make sure the pants go all the way to the floor. Skirts need to be to just below the knee, or all the way long. No mid-calf, unless you wear a high boot in the same colour as the skirt or pants.

For tops, avoid chunky knits unless you are totally flat-chested. Also avoid roll-necks or high necks unless you're flat-chested.

Actually, capris look great on short people, at least me. Remember though that they can't be flood pants, which are almost to your ankle. They should be a few inches below the knee at most. What’s even better is “bermuda” shorts, where they end just slightly above your knee. I actually buy some bermuda shorts and use them as capris because they end up going just below my knee. Either is fine for me at least. Heels definitely help but are often pretty annoying to wear day in and out especially in the winter. Aeropostale has great short lengths in jeans that are actually short enough, same for American Eagle. There are other stores too that go by inseam (which will be kinda expensive, but hey, what else can you do). Skirts that are knee-length or slightly above are great, especially when they’re flowy (not the pencil straight style). I wear big prints and it doesn’t make a lick of difference. Large handbags and stuff are fine too, don’t listen to that. It won’t help but it won’t hurt you either. Of course don’t be carrying around a shoulder bag that hangs to your knees, but you get the picture. Pants matching shoe color and pointy shoes are good ways to go though. I wear turtle-necks and am not flat-chested, they look particularly good on me in fact, so that’s rubbish… Definitely long pants and pointy shoes. The best TYPE of jeans to wear are BOOTCUT girl. Flares are ookaay, but bootcut are the best. Straight legs depending on your curviness (better if you’re less curvy), and skinny jeans NEVER EVER! Ick. Makes you look like an upside down triangle. :D good luck! I know it super sucks!

Best outfit: Black slimming top possibly v-neck with long sleeves, bootcut jeans, and pointy high-heeled shoes, making sure that the jeans go to the floor (not stepping on them though). :)

These are good lengths:

P.S. Though she is a little taller, look to Rachel Bilson for things that may look good on you. IE http://www.slutceleb.com/7/rachel_bilson_sexy_glamor_shots/images/18090_Rachel_Bilson_DodgeballPremiere_004.jpg

Oh well i have the same problem im short too except Im 4'11". Id suggest shopping at wet seal where u could find pants on your size that go by inseam for instance they'll say short or tall. Their pants fit me well and dont drag on the floor! And if theyre still too long just fold them a little bit.

Wearing all one color gives the illusion of height. V neck tops are slimming and make you look taller. Heels are perfect for petites. They have fabulous petite clothes now and they are just proportioned smaller for the small girl. Try on various styles and look at yourself objectively and you will come up with "your" look. Good luck.

Keep things in proportion to your overall size. If you wear prints, they must be small prints, so the print does not overpower you.
Same goes for accessories. Avoid huge handbags or large belt buckles.
Match your shoe color to your pants color and choose pointy toed shoes (just TRY it - they are not uncomfortable!) to elongate your legs.

Wear knee-length or just above the knee skirts...too short or too long will make you appear shorter.

Wear a jacket that skims your hip, not one that covers your backside.

Pants are good, don't wear capris(they make you look shorter), skirts, jeans, shorts something like that

Also wear high heels, not saying like 5 inches just small high heels
