You are SO right about Joe Namath, here are some more Namath facts you might not be aware of

13 year career

Threw more Int's than TD passes in 11 of them, including his final 8 season's in a row. I thought Qb's were supposed to get better after they got used to playing in the league?

threw more than 20 Int's 5 times in 13 seasons. Four of those seasons, he only played a handful of games (6 or less) so he threw more than 20 Int's in 5 of 9 complete seasons in the NFL. And remember, they only played 14 game seasons back then.

Career 173 TD's 220 Int's .... Could this be the biggest discrepancy in the history of the NFL? 47 less TD's than Int's?

Threw the 2nd most Int's returned for TD's in the history of the NFL

Completed less than 50% of his passes in 7 of his 13 career seasons.

All-time completion percentage is 50.13%

Failed to make the playoffs in 10 of 12 career seasons with the Jets. The playoff appearance with the Rams does not count since he did not get the team there

Career playoff victories - 2, and he never won another playoff game after the "guarantee" against the Colts.

Highest ever QB rating was 74.3. In 2005, this would have ranked him with the likes of Josh McCown (74.9), Michael Vick (73.1) Brooks Bollinger (72.9) Joey Harrington (72.0) Gus Frerotte (71.9) Kyle Boller (71.8)

8 of 12 seasons, his QB rating was below 70, and his career QB rating is 65.5

ranks 44th all-time in pass attempts
Does Not rank in the top 50 all-time in completions
Ranks 42 all-time in passing yards
Ranks 43rd all-time in TD passes
Trails the illustrious Craig Morton in all these statistical categories

How did this guy ever get elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame?

YES! Someone finally agrees with me. Absolutely Joe Namath. His career QB rating is by far the lowest of any QB in the HOF.
If Namath is in guys like Roman Gabriel, Ken Stabler, and Randall Cunningham should be in

Terry Bradshaw is a distant 2nd as far as overrated players go. Sure he won 4 championships but it was mostly because of that incredible defense and those two amazing receivers.

Well Ryan Leaf was probably the biggest bust, but he was a good quarterback in college. Same goes to Cade McNown. Joe Namath is definitley the most overrated. He had a fairly mediocre career, but he made it into the HOF because he won one Super Bowl.

Joe Namath did the greatest thing for Football. If he did not win that SB, there is a good chance the NFL would not exist.

Most overrated player is definetly TO.

I would have to go with Ryan Leaf. He was a good college QB that could not transcend his game to the pro level. Andre Ware wasn't that impressive when he brought his game to the professional ranks. Winning the Heisman doesn't mean you are automatically going to be great in the NFL.

Tom Brady. Joe Namath is one of the best. He guaranteed victory and he followed through. Overrated quarterbacks don't guarantee victory and follow through on it.

Tony Mandarich (Green Bay) was supposed to be the most dominant lineman ever to play the game. Turned out to be a bust.

Todd Marinovich (Raiders) his father regimented his life in order to be the best quarterback in history. Never ate a McDonalds until he left for college. Turned out to be a bust.

Michael Vick. He's exiting, but I don't think that the Falcons will ever win with such an inconsistent QB, and Deon Sanders was sweet, and was pretty good at baseball too.

obviously some its vick...and those who said him are smart, and to the dumbass who said peyton manning is overated wow how can you call a 49 touchdown season overated how can you aruge the fact that the man has over 4,000 passing yards in the past 5 seasons, the mans got one of the best arms in the league now if not the best, the colts arent my favorite but peyton manning deserves all the hype he gets, he's got a rocket arm, good acuracy,

How old are you, Namath taking a dump is better than your ten best.
Lets over rate Terry Bradshaw , Montana, Staubach,Stabler, Greise, statistically not great QBs, but SB winners. But to you that doesnt count.
Oh, you must like the pretty boys, Tarkenton, Bledsoe, Kelly, Marino......No rings, but great stats.

Namath played only 5 full seasons on one leg on teams with no defense.
