I've used Netflix for 3 years now, and since the beginning of 2006 I've noticed that it takes much longer for them to process my returns and new rentals. Sometimes it takes as long as 6 days for me to receive a new movie after sending in one I've already viewed. Is this a Netflix problem, a Postal Service problem, or both? I don't feel like I'm getting as much value for my money, especially since they raised their rates last year.

It's not about location to distribution centers. It's about throttling. They slow down your service when you send back movies fast. They don't want you to have more than 2 movies per week. Search google for Netflix throttling.

I just joinned netflix i find it only takes 3 days for me to send and get new ones back maybe you are in an area where lots of people have joinned and it is a little hard for them to deal with mass amounts from the same area. As for the postal service you should get emails telling you when Netfilx recieves a movie and when they are shipping it so that would be one way to know if it takes more than 2 days for them to get it or send it, i would question the postal service more. hope this helps

If you are lucky enough to have a distribution center near your home then you get pretty good turn around. I usually can send off a movie on a Monday and get a new movie in the mail by Wed,...pretty quick turnaround if you ask me.
I did notice a slight lag in service around Christmas time. I figure it was due to large volumes of mail,..postal days off, and new subscriber overload.

I don't think it has to do with anything spiritually. The people that deal with customers "customer service" are not as valued anymore. Its all about profits for the stock holders. I worked in customer service and we were given no power to even help the customers, we were paid a low wage and forced to try and sell products when people called in with complaints. I though when I applied to work there I would be helping people, not being turned into a sales rep.

I have also been a long term Netflix customer and I definitely agree. When I sent in my last movie it took a few months before my next movie. I might switch over to the new blockbuster deal if I were you because I am considering it.

I think a lot of it has to do with the postal system and how close you live to a distribution center....

I am not sure about that throttling thing....

sometimes there is a delay because the movie is not available at that distribution center and they have to ship it from a different distribution centre...

Yes! So I switched to the Blockbuster online and they are just as fast as Netflix used to be, and $2.00 cheaper per month! And you can return the movies in the store!

No problems here. We live in Lexington KY and the disc go back to Louisville KY. Turn around is a couple of days.
