You probably mean 'punch volley' which means that you keep your wrist firm, racket extended, and hit through (or punch) the ball, to get control and power in your volley. Or a kick serve, A kick serve is hit with topspin and travels at a lesser pace than the flat serve. The ball travels in a higher arc over the net than a flat serve. It then dips quicker and bounces higher, generally away from the receiving player's backhand. The kick serve in general is safer to hit and is often employed for the second serve.

I have played every day of my life pretty much since I was 10 and I have not heard of that. If I had to guess I would think it would be just blocking the ball in without much motion. Like the guy before me I have heard of a punch volley and he kind of explained it. Sorry I could not be more of a help. Thinking about it I am not even sure on the serve if there is a part of the motion where you would use a punching motion. I have to think it is a slang term for just blocking the ball in on your serve to get it in which will not help your game all that much.
