I've read this before. Tim gives some pretty persuasive arguments, but most people try to shoot it down and cite about how the translation was messed up.

It does make quite a bit of sense with what was going on outside that region though.

I think that using people's beliefs against them for mere entertainment purposes is cheap, tasteless and he needs to get a brain.

These people are genuine, they want to help save your soul, thats what they believe in. No thankyou I have alternative beliefs is sufficient. No need to upset these people many of whom are elderly or very young and very inexperieced. I only lost my temper once with these religious people. My colleague had killed herself and I was asleep and they woke me up and almost demanded to know why I was asleep at 2 in the afternoon and I told them I was taking leave due to my colleague and they promptly informed me that my colleague would go to hell - how comforting of them, how sensitive but under normal circumstances a simple no thankyou not interested in best. as for his view of the bible - the bible is full of contradictions and a clever wordsmith can argue quite well anything - leave religious people alone is my view.

Sorry to sound rude and uncaring but I don't think many will answer this due to the length or the piece. I couldn't even manage to read the first 4 sentences.
