How do movie producers place movies on dvds?

Actually if you are referring to main stream DVD movies, they are not burned like we do on computers. They are completed via a pressing process. Could you imagine MGM sitting there with a bunch of burner towers...LOL. Not.

DVD stands for Digital Versitile Disk. They can store tons of information, not only movies, but any type of computer file. The most common sizes of disks hold anywhere from 2 to close to 10 Gigabytes of information. The new Blue ray Disks can hold 5 to 10 times as much information.

DVD stands for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc is an optical disc storage media format that can be used for data storage, including movies w/high video & sound quality. They are that same size as a cd Compact disc. DVD replaced laser discs b/c they were smaller in size & have digital picture and sound. The 1st laser discs didn't have digital sound & were expensive.

well the long form of it i think digital video disc, but i'm probably wrong but it makes sense. digital format of audio and video

...Kinda like how they put music on CDs...by computer...but instead of just sound...it's video too..
