Hey...ok if it swallen, the get an old stocking and put electric salt crystals (at chemist or supermarket) in the stocking. Wrap it around your knee in bed. By morning the salts have drawn out the fluid creating the swelling.
You cant really help much about the bruising, but make sure that you are maintaining adequate blood flow to the area (this will increase recovery). Make sure your leg is aways warm and that you are massaging the whole leg a couple of times a day.
Dont try and move it straight away. Slowly over time increase the area you are moving it.

If you can bend it without causing crazy pain it will likely heal in time. You can get an ACE bandage wrap or a special knee brace, and these will encourage you to not use the knee (without really preventing it) while you let it heal.
Stay off it. You may want to keep it elevated to reduce pressure on it. Watch a lot of television and let it rest.

You may have dislocated your knee cap. If you believe this is what may have happened, do NOT put pressure on it i.e by STEPPING on it. Try to find an old pair of crutches, but I would STRONGLY recommend setting up an appointment with a doctor, or going to the Emergency Room. But, whatever you do before that, just don't put any pressure on it, because you don't know if it will help, or harm you. Most likely; it will harm, so be careful! Good Luck ^_^

Ice it (which you are doing already)
Wrap it- but not so tightly that you cut off circulation.
Raise it and try not to put weight on it.
You may want to get it x-rayed to make sure nothing was broken.
Good luck!

Keep it iced... sorry, that's about it. You don't want it to swell, since that cuts off the blood supply, so keep it iced.
