I think it is a day when retailers can expolit members of the public. It is nice to have a special day for love but surely if you love someone do you need this day of expense to show them. I personally think it is a waste of money and if people celebrate it - it should be about doing something nice for their significant other and not a expensive gift day.

St. Valentine whom we celebrate, supposedly did something miraculous. So the Vatican appointed Feb. 14th as his day. The Vatican has every day of appointed to some Saint for some reason or another. When they had more Saints than days, they made an All Saints Day. Then the greeting card companies got involved and made it sweatheart day. There is alot more to the story, so check it out! The only reason it means anything to me is that I was born on this day. Just a few short years ago. Happy Birthday to ME!!!

It might just be any other day to some people. But for some like myself. I like it . I seem to feel happy on this day even if I don't get a gift.
