Do you think Lisa Nowak psychological problems?

Question

I thought NASA employees and astronauts are supposed to be some of the smartest, most highly educated people in America? Lisa Nowak drove across the country in diapers, and most people don't drive across the country in diapers with a BB gun and knife in their car.

I don't think she is an evil person, because I'm sure they would have figured that out a long time ago if she was, but do you think she might have some sort of psychological problems?

I can understand that a person who is driven enough to make it into being a NASA astronaut and after years of waiting and training and frustration until you finally get to fly in space and come home that they would feel a lot of "the party's over" depression. She then settles down for another few years of training and waiting for another space flight that may be three years in the future. Then four months later or so big surprise the neighbors hear breaking dishes and she and her husband have split. Well if coming down to Earth wasn't bad enough now she's separated.

The fact that the lady she was stalking was aware that she had been stalked for two months says a lot. Robochick slipped a cog and pinned her future happiness on the hopes of starting up a romance with another astronaut. A person does not arm themselves and go in disguise to have a talk with someone. To threaten them? More than likely, but not a friendly chat to be sure. As humans we fantasize about doing evil things but it's thoughts not actions. It's normal. But to act them out is abnormal. This was well planned but not well thought out. What were the rubber gloves and the knife for? Contingency if the "talking" didn't work?

Lisa Nowak is one of these super-over-achievers that has always gotten what she strived for. She got in the Naval Academy, after several attempts she finally got accepted into the space program, after waiting several years she finally got into space. No matter how super you are, it is hard to juggle all of this and maintain a successful marriage and raise three kids. Maybe her husband felt overwhelmed by this superwoman, maybe she got tired of him. Perhaps only the love and attention of another astronaut could satisfy her ego. She set her sights on this one guy,who was single, but got enraged that that some "inferior" woman could win the love of this guy and in a sense "defeat" her. She is not used to losing, or not getting what she wants, and just could not deal with failure of this type. This happens a lot with corporate executives, sports and movie stars, etc. No matter what they have, they want and feel they deserve "more". It's ego and jealousy and selfishness rolled into one big mess.

I think she was just upset and fed up with the other woman.
The other woman looks like an ostrich and has no chest .
Why would the guy want that thing and not an astronaut?
I would be upset too if my man would ditch me to be with an ostrich.
Okay,let's leave the humor out of this...
She is not crazy,just smart and hardcore.Too bad she got caught,she should have had a better plan.
The whole diaper thing is funny though.

I have to agree with chet jet. Individuals of such high motivation and achievement do not take well to losing out. When they want something they get it or else someone is going to pay. Sadly, she finally lost this game and is being publically humiliated for her outrageous behavior. Hopefully, she learned something through all of this that you don't always get what you want and that's okay.
