I think it's more like you could be hypoxemic. If the baby is laying on your vena cavae, you are not getting good blood flow in the pulmonary system - meaning your blood may be pooling in abdomen and not getting oxygenated as well as it needs to. Ask your doc, as this could be serious.

A couple things to think about.
First your well into your countdown for delivery, your baby is pressing up against all your organs and your stomach being one of them isn't liking it very much. So if you had a big dinner chances are when you lie down, it'll be coming up with your already slow digestion due to pregnancy. Try to eat smaller meals if you can, if you can't at least spread it out so it's not all eaten at once, this way your not hungry but your body also has digested a bit of food by the time you get more in there. So when you go to bed it may not be as bad.
Another is the last couple weeks or the last month alot of woman get nausia , aren't hungry and even have the runs, it's your body cleaning things out getting ready for labor. So it could very well be a sign. But it can be a week or tow, or less, it's just a sign that labors around the corner there's no real when it will happen.
Try propping yourself up a bit at night so it's not as if the taste is in your throat, it may or may not help but you can try. At least this way what's left in the stomach has a better chance of staying down as to when your laying down.
Good luck, take care! Well wishes on your new baby!

It sounds like a different kind of heartburn or irritated stomach. My wife had something similar to this when she was that pregnant, but that's all the doctor said was stomach stuff.
I am guessing it is just from having all your abdominal area squeezed to make room for the baby. Lay on your left side not your right, you know that right. Try to make sure through the night you stay on your side or if you have a Lazy-Boy recliner sit at a little incline. Greasy foods or different things you eat or how late you eat them could have a lot to do with it too. Call your doctor just to make sure......

I think it can be, because with my 2nd pregnancy I know I was getting sick a day before my son was born. Almost like I was getting the stomach flu.

Do you get heartburn when it happens? Sounds like reflux. The baby is getting bigger and pushing against your stomach. I had that with both pregnancies. Sometimes I needed to sleep sitting halfway propped up. If you have a recliner sleep on it, reclined about halfway.

Could it be gastric reflux? That is what happens to me at night. It is a watery substance like you described but with a horrible horrible taste that stays in your mouth and throat. Tums might help at night or a glass of milk.

it is because the baby is so big now it is laying heavy on your stomach and things, try sitting up alittle more in bed when you sleep, that will help
