How do you stop thinking like that?
I'm not overweight..I'm 5'6" and 125 pounds.
But..when I look in the mirror..I see fat!
I used to be fat..but I lost the weight..and I still see myself as fat.
Because of the poor body image..I'm shy [very] and I don't wear clothes that I would look really good in.
Peolpe tell me all the time that I'm pretty and skinny..but I don't see that in the mirror! How can I see what others see?!?!

I'm guessing that you are pretty young. The most important thing you should focus on is NOT what others think about you, but what you think of yourself.

Start leading a rewarding life, be healthy and stay fit. Start a hobby, or renew a hobby that you used to have! Stay on top of your studies and get good grades.

It's ok to be shy, but you're seeing things the wrong way and it is unhealthy.

First of all how old are you?? If youre really young then Id be really worried because its very unhealthy for someone soo young to feel that way about their own body. Well I used to be like you. I always thought I had a horrible body but once I started dressing differently and pushing myself to wear different things I started to feel more confident in me and my body. Its basically all up to u to want to change. Dont think u cant or else u never will! U are the perfect normal weight fr your heinght so there is nothing to worry about. Just remember to eat well and exercise when u can cuz it will help in the long run. Hope that helps, and remeber to stay positive!

Try talking to yourself in the mirror. After i lost weight , i still felt fat, even though i knew i wasn't. It's your old way of thinking speaking to you. When you look in the mirror each morning and every night, say out loud: I am so pretty and my body is so hot! (or choose your own words) as long as they positive, up-lifting words. Before you know it, all the past negativity will be gone, and you will believe what you are saying and what others are telling you. Be happy and love yourself and who you are.

Well, maybe you should go see a doctor or counselor for that, because it may be the beginnings of a serious eating disorder. But, if you'd like to do things for yourself at home, try every week focusing on one part of your body. Thank your body for keeping you healthy and strong. For instance, one day look in the mirror and say, "Thank you stomach for looking great and digesting my food!" Sure, you may not believe it, but give it time and it will work. And, yes, it does sound pretty freakin lame, but as long as you don't start worshiping your body in front of others, I think you'll be okay. :)

Most people are never satisfied with their appearance. You are not alone. Your body image issues may be a self esteem issue. You cant be comfortable in your skin on the outside if you are not happy with yourself on the inside. Now that you have worked hard to lose the weight, work just as hard to LOVE yourself inside!!
