Not so good. If you have to have duals, use a quieter muffler. The "raspiness" won't be so noticable.

If you want that true V-8 sound, install a V-8 motor.

Contrary to what those muffler ads may say, a muffler will not make your engine sound like it is something it is not.

This is a great question you ask. V engines have 2 banks of cylinders of course. Even numbers of cylnders above 4 per side are very pleasing to the ear because of the syncronization of strokes.

So, V8s, V12s, and the old V16s in the old Cadillacs sound great.

V6s and V10s will sound "tinny" to the ear and never sound right. The Viper and the M5 have V10s and the sound is not pleasing. Ferrari has V12s and V8s which sound wonderful.

4s are usually usualy straight in a line and do not have enough of a sound to sycronize.

So, the short answer is, V6 with straight pipes will not sound that great because there are two banks of 3 cylinders which do not create a very good harmony.

The key is even numbers per side....

I don't think it sounds good at all. Sounds like a bumble bee. But if you are intent on doing it, it will help with airflow and give you better gas mileage. If you really want to try it, I would suggest putting some Cherry bombs or something on it to make it sound a little better, though it still won't sound as good as a V8 with straight pipes.

In my journey, a immediately pipe is utilized in some offroad applications... they have not have been given any cat converters or mufflers... immediately pipes sound advantageous. i've got self assurance that tail pipe is extra of a well-known term in connection with the exhaust pipes.

No not at all. V8's sound so good because of more cylinders firing per revolution, V6 just wont cut it. IMHO
