No, you aren't bigoted, you are well informed. The tunes may be strong and rebellious, but they are reactionary in nature and almost perform a self defensive function. Not all history is pleasant. Many rebel songs are about pain and hardship that must be absorbed and overcome. Are people really afraid or offended by songs like "Irish Ways And Irish Laws" (Christy Moore)? I know that there are stronger ones out there, but still...
Most countries have militaristic rebellious songs, especially those that have an oppressed populance and have suffered an invasion or colonization such as Ireland. It is foolish to think an oppressed population would not retaliate, through song or otherwise.. Look at any national anthem. My country's anthem, the star spangled banner, is about surviving a battle against the enemy. Cultural pride, and knowledge of history is not bigotry. It's rather telling that some fear a song or an idea.Things are changing and that's a good thing, but the past is part of history, and you can't whitewash it because you disagree. I am sure that the English would have a few rebel songs of their own had Germany invaded them during WW2. And I wouldn't blame them at all for it.

I LOVE Irish rebel songs - it is truly part of the tumultuous history of this proud people. Just because you listen to the music doesn't mean you are bigoted - unless you choose to act in a way that shows bigotry!

irish rebel songs ,celebrate the murderous deeds of the IRA.
They encourage the young ,foolish and impressionable to continue the evil stance against the democratic right of the people of Ulster to be british.
