I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you mean: "we're about to sleep while some people are about to wake up," and then want to know how others with newborns are sleeping at night (or perhaps how others' newborns are sleeping during the night).
As far as your messed up sleep schedule: sounds about right for parents of a newborn. Actually, if there's ever a time you consider yourself to be "about to sleep" for any period of time that exceeds the typical duration of a nap....consider yourself lucky.
It gets better, but while many people will tell you "wait until the baby is 3 months old, then the baby will sleep through the night and your troubles will be over," that just isn't true. Sure, it's true for some, but it's not true for others. However, there will come a night when you'll get several successive hours of sleep -- when that night comes, you'll wake up anyway and hysterically wonder what's wrong with your baby, that it hasn't awakened. You'll go and check, and everything will be fine.

I think you need to retype your question, hun, just for clarification. I don't understand what it is that you are asking.
