Your doctor is just trying to see if it's a minor irregularity in your flow. It would be frustrating to wait for 2 months, but it's not really a big deal. I would ask her for the pills now, just because they have so many benefits.
Your flow will be lighter, your skin will clear up, and some people even have less cramps!
I used to have a VERY heavy, messed-up, irregular period, and birth control pills completely corrected it. I use Estrostep Fe. Mine lasts 4-7 days, and is light. I haven't used any other brand, but most new ones offer even lighter and shorter flows.

Well, also you might want to have her check for Fibroids (non cancerous tumors), or Endometreosis those 2 things cause HEAVY HEAVY periods!!
I suffered from this myself & it went undiagnosed for years.. I heard Yazmine is a good new birth control with VERY lite or NO periods. I would make sure that the heavy periods are not caused by anything before I add some HARMONE like a pill to the mix it could make fibroids grow. And isn't it funny how Dr's always want you to WAIT when you are uncomfortable, KNOWING that thwey would not want to do the same LOL. I hope that helps!
Also look up on the web under-birth control & it will pull up EVERYTHING known to women on this subject with reviews & all to give you an idea of what you may want!

Waiting two months may seem like a long time, but it is good advice from the doctor. Ask the doctor about the "once every 3 months" pill, I have forgotten the name.

Best bet is tho follow the docs directions. If she said wait, then wait. They usually know what they are talking about.
The depo birth control shot is great. After three months I didn't even have a period anymore. Haven't had one in a couple of years because of the shot.

I would wait the recommended time your doctor gave you. She is looking out for your best interest. Maybe she wants to see if it will get better with out The Pill. Also depending how old you are, they don't like to give the pill to really young girls. You are better off to take your doctors orders.

Please wait. The doctor probably wants to make sure it is nothing else medically. Then she will probably put you on the pill. So, please, listen to the dr., and in a couple of months, you can regulate it with what the dr. gives you. See, excessive heavy bleeding could be caused by your pregnant-and don't know it yet-or fibroid tumors (probably benign), etc. Plus, from what I have heard over the years, regarding birth control pills/patches, if you smoke, please quit-because there are the warnings of chance of stroke, etc. if you smoke, and you are over 35 yrs. old Take care.

Id wait a couple of months before making a decison. I had very irregular perios and went on the patch which i love. My gyno tried to get me to go one the nuva ring but its only recommended if you are comfortable using tampons since they feel about the same.

Well if there is a history of heavy periods then you probably will need something to help you out. I would wait the couple of months... you don't want to be taking synthetic hormones if you don't have to.

Go to a different doctor and get a second opinion. If you do not want to wait I do not see why you have to.
