IE Tab is a Firefox add-on that enables you to use the embedded IE engine within Firefox. You can choose which pages to view with Internet Explorer in Firefox. See: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

At Mozilla's site they have a plug-in for firefox, called IE Plug-in, this will let you view IE pages inside of firefox.. But You cannot plug IE into Firefox...Good Luck

You use them separately. You can have both IE or firefox open at the same time.

they are two different browsers. I have had them both open at the same time.
they each have different things i like, now i just use firefox, there are more pluses from my point of view
