With some people only gossip is interesting. With other people interesting conversation excludes gossip. Interesting conversation almost always benefits someone. Gossip always harms someone.

Gossip is unverified confidential information about a person told to another in apparent confidence, generally regarding someone known to either or both participants. Gossip is a subset of interesting conversation.

I think gossip has a more negative connotation. It generally implies that you are talking about someone behind their back, where as an interesting conversation stimulates the mind.

when mean things are said. or things that are not true ,or hurtful
things are repeated- that is gossip. When the conversation is a
give and take of harmless ideas and good exchange of mutual interests- that's conversation.

With gossip you don't want the subject to overhear year, not necessarily so with an interesting conversation!

Interesting conversation is never something said about someone which you wouldn't say to their face. Gossip is always something said about someone which you wouldn't say to their face.

interesting conversation just means that the person you reeally want to talk about is either with you or within earshot

gossip can have a slanderous nature to it and it is not neccessarily based on true facts, but just speculation and heresay.
