Before you judge the situation, she has worked really hard all year long and these are the marks that basically determine university entrance and she didn't get what she'd deserved especially in one subject where the teacher was being a prick. BUT that's not the reason for the post.

After that she started crying. I'm a guy and a close/average friend I guess and I was sitting right beside her. I didn't know what to say?? I was like "its ok" lol Thats the only thing I could think of. Then another friend of hers sitting two seats away came over and gave her one of those its ok hugs (but she was a girl!!) so I'm just not sure what I guy in this situation could do. I just felt really bad sitting there....

Tell her what you told us, that you felt bad and didn't know what to say. (You could even print out this question and show her!) Tell her you're not sure what you could do to help but that you are there for her if she needs a hug or someone to talk to.

I dont know if theres anything you really can do - If I knew they really didnt deserve the mark then I would probably say something advising them to go talk to the teacher. Something similar happened to me in high school and the teacher was really understanding and said that I probably would have gotten the mark I needed had I been in a different class but that my style just didnt mesh with his assignments and so he went and changed it for me....

Well, it's good you're asking.
Depends on the friendship. You could have jsut asked her if she wanted a hug- that's one way to get past the gender barrier.
If she says no, at least she knows you care, and you know that's all she really needs.

Take it from someone who used to cry all the time for bad gradeS? Don't say anything.. You feel like no one understand why you're feeling this..It's ok is about as good as it gets.. She'll be ok eventually! I promise :D

You did the right thing. Tell her you are there if she wants to talk about it. Don't feel bad. You are a true friend.
