I'm getting married in a Methodist church, the minister who will be marrying us is authorised to conduct a ceremony, but is from a Pentecostal church in Milton Keynes. Would we need to give notice to the Superintendent Regitrar and have a registrar present at the wedding.

The wedding is in north london, so the minister doing the wedding (a female) is not from that district

if he is not authorised to conduct ceremonies in that location, the methodist minister of the church can be present for the service and do the legal bit, with your pentecostal minister taking most of the service

As far as I know, providing that the church is registered for marriages and the person conducting the legal aspects of the marriage is registered, there should be no problem. However, if you check with the registry office they will advise. Otherwise they will send a registrar to the ceremony and you can have whoever you choose to officiate (providing they are suitably qualified) and any kind of wedding providing that at some point the correct wording is used and the registrar hears the vows. The rules apply to any venue or religion. You have to pay for the registrar to attend.

I doubt it'll be your fault if they screw it up. If they say it's legal then it's legal.
