Some of my friends are either sick or otherwise busy when I ask for help, These are people who I have helped many times. My car is temporarily disabled and I called 3 people for a ride to work and each one refused to help me.

A friend is one u can rely upon when your sad or happy, when in need or not True friends which are hard to come by will always be there!!! In life there are givers and takers,by your comments your a giver. Please watch out for so called friends that take and dont return your kindness. If you choose the right people your giving nature will be rewarded . In true friendships one should see the same feelings and emotions that you have. Its so true that in life people play with other peoples emotions and feelings, befriend them, only to use them for there own gain, then discard them like trash Trust in what you believe in and how you persieve friendships should be. Dont change your giving nature just use your own values to pick your friends.

That's terrible that not one of them would give you a ride. I've gone through similar situations.

Honestly, I just wouldn't help these "friends" anymore. Now you know what they are really like. Continue to be giving in nature, though, just be a bit wiser. Don't let these people change you! There are good people left in the world that will cherish your friendship and be happy to help in any way they can.

Selfishness.

All too often people act like that. I've helped so many people in my time (mostly with money) and when I asked for a little help, they turn me down. At this point, they no longer get my help. Too many times I've had to tell people that if they had helped me out of a sticky predicament, I would be helping them now.

If you want to get rid of a friend, loan them money, you'll never see them again.

People usually are more obligated to return a favor if you do one for them. The Hare Krishna give passers by plastic flowers because then people are more likely to feel obligated to donate. Sounds like your friends don't appreciate what you've done for them
