Others have covered most of the ideas well. If doing the underwear thing you might want to wrap it and enclose the note: These fit me but I bought them for you!
Sweets, a little stuffed animal...
But you may also be able to think of something he wanted at Christmas or for his Birthday. If so, then there you go! A spot on hit.

£70 is a lot of money to spend on a made up holiday!
most men aren't into valentines anyway.

You could:

buy some underwear for yourself and strip for him (primark actually have some amazing underwear at the moment and it's dirt cheap, without looking it, I doubt most men would know the difference between primark and la senza and even if they did it won't be on long enough for them to care)

buy him a dvd he's wanted for a while then order take away and watch it in bed.

get him a pillow with a saucy message or photo of you on

Buy youself a miss massage outfit from ann summers and some oil and give him a sexy massage

or just do what most people probably do- get him a card then cook a nice meal. Seriuosly great cards here-

try getign some nice underwear for yourself, wont cost too much and he'll appreciate it ;)

im baking a cake for mine and cooking some dinner and stuff cuz he knows i have about £10 in total to spend lol and ino he'll appreciate it, and guna make him a card cuz ino he understands its from the heart rather than how much i spend

other ideas, not sure on, im all about stuff that comes from the heart lol and just doing stuff for each other rather than spending a load of money on some junk

good luck, have fun and i hope he likes whatever you get him

Depends what sort of thing he likes most. A bar of Toblerone, something for his car, an aftershave or deodorant perfume, a book he would like, a small bit of sports equipment if he loves sport.

I write to inmates and none of them are allowed to acquire something different than a letter or image. So, a particular notice woud be severe-high quality. while you're on the concentrated visitor's checklist, then perhaps you will possibly have him call you?

ask him, tell its for valentines day and if he says nothing beg it out of him or get him to make you a list
