Yes. Mostly in the South in states like Tennessee. A child is spanked with a wooden paddle in front of the class. It is not done to inflict pain so much as humiliation.
The Spanking Ban that many users are thinking of applies ONLY to parents and their toddlers. In California right now the ban is being opposed.

No. Spanking by a person other than it's parent is now classified as Child Molesting which I think is good.
However, I think that a malicious child who causes trouble to the other kids should have it's parent called to the school for the parent to administer punishment to fit the situation.
If the parent, after being told of the child's trouble making actions refuses to administer private punishment, the child should be sent home from school.
Rules and regulations of such a program must be carefully worked out by school authorities and must comply with other laws and accepted practices in the community.

There is NO spanking in USA schools. this is totally illegal and the teacher could get fired from their job.

i dont think they do no and why but if they did spank kids in U.S. schools that would be concerned as abusing if someone was running against that

No, it does not, so therefore they dont do it, but they used to paddle you on the rear or in my case my teacher took her ruler and cracked you on the knuckles with it

not supposed to be done, unfortunately it is. Case was like that in the houston, tx area couple of months ago.
I wouldn't allow it anyway.
