In the cement mixer concrete is about 10% water by volume. That is about 100 liters of water. Some will be lost to evaporation, but most of that is replaced by a fine spray of water often used to aid in best curing of the cement, so about 95 liters, which allows for about 5% shrinkage as the cement cures. Most of that 95 liters chemically reacts with the other ingredients, so it remains in the concrete very long term. Since re-bar does not absorb significant water, 90 liters may be a better answer as concrete often has metal reinforcement. Neil
