You make a valid point...I would suspect that many cast votes without knowing the candidates' stand on many important issues. They vote along party lines. So if Rudy gets to be the Republican candidate, will his party throw support behind him...just because he's republican? Or will people listen to both sides, making their decision on the best candidate, not just their party's candidate?
And by the way, choosing not to vote, just because you don't like either candidate is unpatriotic and irresponsible. And choosing Ralph Nader as a protest vote could get the country in alot of trouble...

In early polls, Giuliani is being rated above McCain.
Giuliani would have a better chance of beating any democrat in the white house race, just simply because the two main democratic candidates (Hillary and Obama) both have stong opposers within their own party. If the republican winner were to be Giuliani, he would pull a lot of democratic votes due to his stance on social issues. Republicans will vote for him anyway, just simply because he would be the "lesser of two evils" in putting someone more liberal into the white house.
You also have to remember that stem cell research isn't ctegorically a democratically-supported issue. For instance, Mitt Romney, who is Pro-Life, Against Gun Control, and Against Gay Marriage (but for gay rights as it relates to the right to not be persecuted, ridiculed, treated unfairly, etc.) supports stem cell research as far as it is respectful to life. In other words, he just doesn't want people intentionally aborting babies in the name of science. However, with the permission of the mother, embryos who must of medical necessity be aborted should be used for scientific research (ideally to help prevent future medically necessary abortions) for the betterment of society.
Staying on the issue, either Romney or Giuliani would demonstrate excellent leadership and would be a much wiser choice than either Obama or Clinton.

Rudy's record is not a secret. If anyone is seriously supporting someone at this stage of an election thy probably know far more about that candidate than the average anything.
The average republican is not the same thing as the average conservative.
The main difference between Rudy and Democrats is he is a fiscal conservative and extremely pro business. Things Democrats can try to claim but history shows they are not.

Wow, talk about manipulating the facts. Someone saying they are pro-choice does not mean that they are pro-abortion. Majority of the people I know think abortion is despicable. That is not the issue. The stance he is taking is a very common one placing the responsibility on the parties involved and not being their judge. He is also not for gay marriage. He has gone on record as being for same-sex civil unions, which if you ask a gay person are very different things, hence the fact that it has become an issue. Before attempting to dissuade people from voting for a fine republican candidate perhaps do some research.

oh how wrong you are
Rudy=not pro life. he is not pro choice but he is intelligent enough to remember that when abortions were illegal they still happened and a lot of women died along with the children. he is in favor of strict guidelines on abortions but not making it illegal.
pro gun control, that depends on your definition of gun control when Rudy was in charge of NYC he did the research and found that mainly because of the close proximity of people in the city that allowing hand guns was a powder keg waiting to blow. but he is more in favor of requiring that people be required to have some kind of training before owning a hand gun. so am i and i am about as republican as you can be.
pro gay marriage not exactly in fact Rudy was in favor of a truly level ploying field ie. anyone living with someone else and having a noted level of commitment to that person would be able to get the benefits of marriage such as health care and things like that not the tax breaks. sexual orientation was eliminated from the equation. just cuz someone is gay does not mean that that should be used as a basis for terminating their employment or a lease contract or whatever.
his plan for federal funding for stem cell research also calls for full government control over the research so no one company can hold the rights and so that the technology cannot be used for cloning people or things like that
he is also Pro Police officer, and believes in higher pay for officers and fire fighters around the country.
he is also against anything that defaces any religion or the country and i am all for that.

He's not my choice for the Republicans right now but if he wins the nomination I will support him. Republicans know that he's liberal on social issues but he also believes in small government. And people respect him for how he handled 9/11 and how he dealt with crime in New York. Most importanty, he supports President Bush and understands that we can't pull out of Iraq. Only a person as ignorant as yourself could think that he is like Hillary and Obama.

He will not be my first choice in the primaries, but his stances mentioned above are more digestable if you mention that he supports consitutional appointments for Judges and that each of those issues should be in the hands of the citizens, not made by politicians or the supreme court.
Reagan is my hero and he also had some of the same opinions. I didn't agree with them, but to say Chairman Hillary or Lefty Obama would be the same isn't even close to accurate.

Not many people know about Rudy, because he hasn't even been a Senator, he was only the mayor of New You City, and doesn't have much major political experience.
