I really think that most Celebs now-a-days are all plastic Barbie dolls. I believe that Queen Latifa and America Fererra look exactly most women in this country. They are not super skinny, and they are beautiful in their own way. Who do you believe "potrays" REAL women. I mean lets face it, there are more "Queen Latifas" in the world than there are "Nichole Richies" The only thing girls like that are good for is to perpetuate eating disorders. I should no...I have one just cuz i wanted to look like Kate Bosworth.

How about Sandra Bullock? She's not that skinny and she shows us to accept us just the way we are....

BTW, Nicolae Richoes is NOT a great role model.... I even think she's one of the stupidest celebs we ever had. And I mean it: EVER!!! (Together with Paris HIlton, both are Idiot Duo....)

Oh, Oprah Winfrey is also a nice candidate. She's a strong-confident woman and she's truly inspiring!!

First of all, just let me say that it doesn't matter if someone is super skinny as long as they're HEALTHY. A skinny, healthy woman can be just as "Real" as any other woman...please don't say otherwise. It's hard enough now for women without other women degrading them, although you have a point about the anorexia thing. Women shouldn't be pressured to be skinny, BUT they shouldn't be pressured to gain weight either if they're already healthy...someone can be stick skinny but if they're healthy it doesn't matter. Now, to your question, I think Queen Latifa and America Fererra are wonderful role models. They're beautiful and great at what they do. I'd personally add Beyonce to the list because she's on fire right now.

Yes. We're still supposed to be the breadwinner, strong, and manly. It's sexist to expect women to do "womanly" things (laundry, cooking, etc.) but perfectly acceptable to think men are the ones who lift anything over 10 lbs., open doors for women, pull out their chairs, and be the ones to work on cars and stuff. I'd say traditional "macho" men are the worst ones about keeping these stereotypes going, to be honest. I'm not a big believer in gender roles. There are things men are more likely to be better at than women (and vice versa) but I know an exception to almost every gender rule. I'd say the man should do what he's best at. Same for the woman. If this includes the traditional gender roles, then that's the way it should be. If the man's better at cooking and laundry, then he should do them. Of course, the other one should have at least a basic idea on how to do these things too if one of them is sick or injured or just needs help. This isn't to say there aren't plenty of expected gender roles for women, especially among older people, but women don't seem to be as "wrong" when they step out of their gender roles as men are, except to extremely traditional and conservative people.

I'm gonna have to say Ms. Tyra Banks. She has some nice weight on her and she still looks like a supermodel. Even when she was in the modeling industry and on the runway - she always had some meat on her and was never superskinny or waifish. She is a REAL woman through and through.

I think women like Julie Andrews, Angelina Jolie, or Oprah are good role models. These women are beautiful on the inside, which is what matters. ANY women who takes care of herself, uses her mind, and has a beautiful soul is a great role model for all women.

I'm going to have to agree with the first poster and vote for Tyra. Tyra has a camp for girls to help build their self esteem. She speaks out about the weight issue and she really cares about the girls who go on her show and compete. Also Tyra has never had any "work" (plastic surgery) done on herself.

A celeb that acts like working class people do, doesn't have an eating disorder, and doesn't judge their status of wealth by how much money they have.
