I saw this show on TV where they had a non-attractive person drop her books and no one stopped to help her pick them up, but when a pretty person dropped the same books in the same spot, people flocked to that person to help her out. Why is this? Are you guilty of this also?

Clean bright well dressed persons often to the subconscious of males (or females in a vice versa situation) a psychological factor be this image appears more trustworthy. Trust is a big issue with people these days.
Also now more than ever since more people have more pocket money than ever before and spend on their sanitation & vanity, also breast size surgeries.
And a well groomed appearance tends to matter to people more . Also small rounded facial features looker sweeter.
I do not share this view. I like pointy noses and long faces etc. to name a few features people discriminate against.
People are spoiled with their ability of todays day & age "eye candy". No they don't look inside anymore; so they act quite gross and rude.
They'll say men seek sex appeal, they could help this and get more courage to see inside peoples spirits. Women are equally as bad these days.

I help everyone when they are in need, thing is....with our soceity today, people shun the less attractive, they feel as if that person is below them. Do you really think the "pretty lady" would actually give any of the men that helped her the time of day ? Most likely not. Anyway, who cares if you're ugly, it's the personality that counts, and to be honest, I would rather have an ugly friend with a great personality instead of a pretty one that's stuck up!

No I would not do that. If anyone dropped something in front of me I would happily help them by picking it up for them. I wouldn't give a second thought as to what they looked like, how could that possibly matter?

Ugly is not a matter of the facial features you are born with. All people are beatiful. It's the way you carry yourself and present yourself that make you attractive or unattractive. It's not like landing on the lucky number. Everyone has the ability to be attractive.

People are drawn to what is attractive, unfortunately. They have found that even babies have a preference in attractiveness and beauty. Also, look at babies and think about why they are so cute? The cuter, the more attention they get, thus being cared for more. In other words, it's nature.

It's more genetic than anything. We are wired to be attracted to the most athletic, healthy, and even symmetric people. The whole Darwin survival of the fittest pushes us to breed with the best. Not saying it is morally right, just saying the impulse can't be suppressed.

Because we are programmed to believe that pretty=nice or pretty= good genes. I guess. Since I'm ugly, I tend to help anyone as long as they're clean.
