A diver springs upward from a board that is three meters above the water. At the instant she contacts the water her speed is 8.70 m/s and her body makes an angle of 85.0° with respect to the horizontal surface of the water. The angle is due to the horizontal component of the velocity.
We have two components of V
Vh - horizontal component
Vv - vertical component
Vh=Vcos(85.0)
Vv=Vsin(85.0)

and the initial velocity
Vh=Vcos(85.0)=
Vh=0.76 m/s (zero degrees with horizontal)
Vv=0
Vinitial= Vh
