It was actually a good thing he didn't win. Then he would've been stuck in the American Idol contract and probably wouldn't have had as much success as he's had on his own.

Because more people prefer pop ballad divas (read: McPhee) than rockers!! How could they? Ballad singers are a dime a dozen, but a great rocker is hard to come by!

Plus, I think a lot of people just assumed Chris had the contest wrapped up.

That's what happens when you don't vote!

NO!!!!! He had the most talent and the most experience. I think that Taylor Hicks is gonna win... i think a lot of older people are voting for him!

He's quite happy that he didn't. He wishes everyone would just let it go. He wouldn't be where he is now if he had won.
