Anything by Meg Cabot espically: Teen Idol(an average teenager must show a teen movie star around school), Avalon High(a modern twist to the King Arthur tale), All-American Girl(a girl saves the life of the President) and some of the Princess Diaries(an average girl gets her life turned upside down when the she learns she is the princess of a small country).
Then there's Sarah Dessen: Just listen(her life is changed after one summer and not in a good way a really good read), Dreamland(after her sister runs away her life is changed she starts dating a guy and some extremly bad things go on in her life that makes you really angry and if you have a heart you will cry) then there's That Summer(it's about two friends one becomes pregnant and the other falls in love with a guy who is nice a first but then something happends.)
Also there's these two great books by Steven Levenkron: The Best little girl in the World( its about a girl who becomes anorexic) then there's The Luckiest girl in the World( about an ice skater who cuts herself) both stories deal with the illness you met a psychiatrist who helps them (just don't be dumb enough to actually become an anorexic or a cutter just read the book).
Also, Dancing on the Edge by Han Nolan a really good book about a girl who was born from the body of a dead woman and her journey, the girls.
Hopefully, this helped you if you need a better description go on Amazon and write in the author or the title in the search bar for a review.

Twilight- Stephanie Meyer (good) Bella goes to live with her dad in Washington, she meets Edward a very hot pale mysterious guy. He runs with the same pale people every day. Vampires.
Very good book on the New York Times best seller list. The sequel New Moon is also very good.
Crank- Ellen Hopkins -Kristina is the perfect daughter, student. While on a trip to visit her absentee father, Kristina disappears and Bree takes her place. Bree is the exact opposite of Kristina-she's fearless. Through a boy, Bree meets the monster:crank. And what begins as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul-her life.

Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen

The book is about to girls who have been friends since they were little. It starts the summer before Scarlett and Haley's Junior year of high school. Early in the book you find out that Scarlett's boyfriend has died and she is pregnant with his baby. The book deals with teen pregnancy openly. The author isn't trying to preach against teenage pregnancy, just describe it's affect on a teenage girl. The book also deals with Halley's relationship with her mom, and the relationship between Scarlett and her mom. The book talks about lots of different things teenagers go through and is by far my favorite book right now. It's well written and isn't another anti-teenage "don't have sex cause you'll ruin your life" books or one of those cliche teenage pregnancy books.

Sloppy Firsts, Second Helpings, and Charmed Thirds are each books in a series. It's about a girl named Jessica in her final years of high school and eventually college, and deals with realistic subjects that teens deal with - drugs, sex - in a realistic way. There's no preachy message here, it's an honest reading about a modern teenage girl's life. The main character is really funny, and watching her life unfold is fascinating.

It's scary how recognisable the characters are, you'll find them walking around any high school right now.

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith is amazing!! It's about this girl who loves to write and lives in poverty. It takes a place in the early 1900s in England. It's really good. A book for a trashy teen novel would be the It Girl. It's really good, but i can't remeber the author.

Go Ask Alice- You'll never want to do drugs, ever.
A Time for Dancing- A story about friend.
Stargirl- Cute story about a girl who dared to be different.
Speak- Awesomely true about high school.
A Walk to Remember- A love story.
Stardust- A fantasy/new aged fairy-tale.

They're all really easy reads, and pretty short.
