I cannot budge the gear shift on my 94 Ford Thunderbird. It is stuck in park. It is very cold outside, but i don't think that's it. What can be the problem?

Check the linkage from the brake pedal to the gear shift linkage and see if it has come loose for some reason. Or if you have recently had your brakes worked on you might have to adjust the linkage in order to get out of park. i.e. your brakes being adjusted up so the pedal doesn't go down far enough to release the gear shift.

If it is a steering column shifter, try to budge the steering wheel a little to the left or right and see if it will free it. Sometimes when the steering wheel locks after the car is off, it puts tension on it and it is hard to move.
