our esteemed president, in his infinite wisdom, hasn't said why...but just wait and see who gets the job next. Lam is one of a whole bunch of US Attorneys who got fired recently so Bush can put in a bunch of his cronies before he leaves office. Those US Attorney jobs are perk that presidents (of both parties) like to give to the party faithful, although Bush snuck a clause into the Patriot Act giving him greater power to fill US Attorney jobs without the approval of congress.

To be replaced by someone that worked for the RNC.
She's the one that put "Duke" Cunningham in jail, so that should be a clue.
She was working on other major corruption cases against other prominent Reps, and associates say those cases will die.
Keep in mind that Lam was nominated by Bush, and confirmed by a Rep controlled Senate.
There are 8 other US Attys that Bush has fired to be replaced by RNC lackeys. One, who will take over in AR, was hed of "operations research" at the RNC. The guy that dug up dirt on Demos. That's a great background for a US Atty.

Her failure to effectively pursue smuggling and gun charge circumstances. I say if she in hardship-free words takes many of the guidelines of the U. S. heavily, at the same time as ignoring prosecutions of different guidelines, then solid riddance.
