yes for some girls but others who in my opinion has greater common sense, no as diamonds cannot comfort you, provide basic neccesities, shelter you, listen to you etc

If they are the materialistic type. Those type of girls have pupils the shape of money signs. I have to say no, diamonds are not a girls best friend because I am a girl and diamonds are the last thing on my mind.

Come on, its just a slogan, yes is beautiful and shiny and last forever, but really, is just a slogan so you would run out to buy it for girl, and that girl will remember you forever because IS SO DARN EXPENSIVE. I guess in some way, it can be a girl's best friend because when she see it, it will makes her happy and smile, but best of all, if she ever need money, she can go sell it to help her with the bills. lol.

i have a couple of diamond rings and i cherish them as they were passed down to me through 3 generations? so my diamonds are my best friend as i treat them as well as id treat any of my real friends?

Not for me am not really a jewellery person did have lots but don't wear it. I gave most of it to my daughter for her 21st 5yrs ago. I did get emeralds Christmas '05 and will keep them only have worn them twice.
