Yes, different kinds of monkeys specialise in
different kinds of food. A number of kinds are
primarily leaf eaters, such as the colobus in Africa
and the howler monkeys in the New World. The
smaller primates, such as marmosets and tamarins
are often primarily insect and/or nectar eaters.
Some species are very nearly omnivorous, like
humans. In this kind, different individuals often
have different favorite foods, again like humans.

captive monkeys as a rule do not eat oranges, as they will give them the runs. however, it depends on the species of primate. Many like grapes, dried fruit, bananas, apple over most other foods. However, there are some monkeys (langurs, for example) that will not eat any fruit at all, and stick to leafy veg. In the wild it is slightly different as they have access to different foods. Many also eat insects

basically ..yes.....put a pile of fruit out for a monkey and it will carefully pick out its favorite fruits first
