Definitely not, and anyway to class one ugly I believe they have to be ugly on the inside (personality) more than on the outside, all they have done is given her glasses, a brace, made her hair look messy etc and called her ugly Betty, which is actually quite insulting as many people wear these things in real life and are not ugly, have you seen the actress who plays her in real life, she's beautiful , recently they had an article in a magazine where they superimposed braces, messy hair onto other well known attractive celebrities, and guess what they looked geeky too, they have just stereotyped her with the classic geeky image just cos she's actually very intelligent and not like the superficial co workers she has to contend with, that's the irony of the show, the REAL ugly people are the majority of the so-called beautiful co workers/designers she has to work with, they lack any likable personality at all!

Beauty is only skin deep. Betty may not be an attractive girl but I am sure her caring and willing to support others makes her most beautiful person.

No i don't think so. Ugly can be change into beautiful swan. as if plucking the eyebrow a little bit and remove the brace and there u got beautiful swan. that all to know ugly can be pretty people.

No, its the usual trick they pull in American tv and movies, by getting somebody who is actually ok looking to look geeky by giving her (always) glasses, and in this case, braces/retainers.
Take away all that and I reckon the actress is probably quite nice looking.
