I am agreeing with your statement. I guess the insurgents used that many to fund their campaigns to get elected to the new Iraqi parliament, where they enjoy immunity from prosecution. All the while, they can continue to undermine America's efforts there, using American dollars.

It was a poorly conceived plan, on behalf of the United States. Our government should never have authorized such a large dump of currency into the vacuum of Iraq.

Bush decidered... to give away 273 million pounds of money.

Yesterday the Senate questioned Ambasador Bremmer that number came up as the amount shipped from the Federal Reserve Bank.

I simply do not understand why this administration is incapable of tracking the spending of relief funds it supplies for rebuilding efforts. It's getting ridiculous. With Katrina, okay, I guess that was, relatively speaking, a small amount of money. But we're talking BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars wasted in Iraq. SWIMMING POOLS???? Aren't there more important things to build than swimming pools in the backyards of Iraqi officials' houses????? Like schools, or homes, or things like that?
