It was all in her imagination. Basically Seasons 4-9 were made up in Roseanne's head for a book she was writing.

It was all dreamed up in her head, the last season. The last season was supposed to be based on the things that Roseanne was writing. She was using writing as a way of coping with Dan dying of a heart attack. An escape from reality is you will.

The last episode of the series revealed that Dan had actually died from the heart attack at Darlene's wedding and that from there on the show was based upon the writtings of a book by Roseanne's character. Quite frankly I think it was the lamest ending of a show possible.

It was a book she was writing, she fictionalized her own life. You find this out in the last episode, they never won the lottery, Dan died from that heart attack he had at Darlene's wedding, and Jackie is a lesbian, not Roseanne's mother.

They really won the lottery, I use to watch that show religiously. But they didn't win until after Dan moved out.
